Cocos nucifera (Yellow Dwarf)
The yellow dwarf coconut is one of the most decorative coconut palms: its fronds carry a golden tint and its nuts ripen a bright, buttery yellow, standing out beautifully in the garden. Like other dwarf types, it begins bearing young and grows slowly in height, keeping clusters of drinking coconuts within reach for longer than tall varieties. Young nuts are full of sweet, refreshing coconut water and tender flesh. It is ideal for hot coastal and lowland gardens across the Yucatán Peninsula and southern Mexico. Grown on our farms in Yucatán and Chiapas and shipped via DHL.

How to Care for It
Plant in full sun in deep, sandy or loamy soil with good drainage; coconuts tolerate salty coastal air. Water generously and regularly, especially in the dry season. Feed three or four times a year with a palm fertiliser containing potassium, magnesium and micronutrients. Coconuts are damaged by temperatures below about 5 °C. Remove only fully dead fronds and never cut the growing tip.
The backbone of a tropical orchard. Mangoes, Booth 8 avocado, red mamey, chicozapote, carambola, dwarf coconuts, jackfruit and dragon fruit: reliable, productive trees that thrive in Mexico's warm lowlands and coasts, grown on our farms and shipped by DHL.
