Sale price: $385 MXN Regular price: $455 Save $70 (15% off)

Booth 8 is a tropical-type avocado, a West Indian and Guatemalan hybrid developed in Florida, valued for heavy crops and adaptability to hot, humid climates where Hass struggles. It bears medium to large, smooth green fruit with creamy, light-textured flesh that is lower in oil than Hass, mild and pleasant in salads, tortas and guacamole. The tree is vigorous, upright and productive, typically ripening its fruit in autumn and early winter. It is a sensible choice for lowland gardens in southern Mexico. Grown on our farms in Yucatán and Chiapas and shipped via DHL.

How to Care for It

Plant in full sun in deep, very well-drained soil; avocados quickly suffer root rot in waterlogged ground, so plant on a mound in heavy soils. Water deeply but let the topsoil dry between waterings. Mulch with coarse organic matter, keeping it off the trunk. Feed with a fruit-tree fertiliser with zinc and iron during the growing season. Prune after harvest to control height.

The backbone of a tropical orchard. Mangoes, Booth 8 avocado, red mamey, chicozapote, carambola, dwarf coconuts, jackfruit and dragon fruit: reliable, productive trees that thrive in Mexico's warm lowlands and coasts, grown on our farms and shipped by DHL.
