-21%Green Malayan Dwarf Coconut Palm
Cocos nucifera 'Malayan Green Dwarf'
The green Malayan dwarf is a classic coconut for drinking. Its abundant, round green nuts are harvested young, when they are full of sweet, refreshing coconut water and soft, spoonable jelly, just like the cocos sold chilled at Mexican beach stands. Dwarf palms start producing years earlier than tall coconuts and stay a manageable height for a long time, making harvesting easier. It is a graceful, productive palm for hot, sunny gardens in the Yucatán, the Gulf coast and the Pacific lowlands. Grown on our farms in Yucatán and Chiapas and shipped via DHL.

About the Green Malayan Dwarf Coconut Palm

How to Care for It
Plant in full sun in deep, sandy or loamy soil with good drainage; coconuts tolerate salty coastal air. Water generously and regularly, especially in the dry season. Feed three or four times a year with a palm fertiliser containing potassium, magnesium and micronutrients. Coconuts are damaged by temperatures below about 5 °C. Remove only fully dead fronds and never cut the growing tip.
The backbone of a tropical orchard. Mangoes, Booth 8 avocado, red mamey, chicozapote, carambola, dwarf coconuts, jackfruit and dragon fruit: reliable, productive trees that thrive in Mexico's warm lowlands and coasts, grown on our farms and shipped by DHL.
