About the Jaboticaba Tree

How to Care for It
Give full sun or light shade and slightly acidic, rich, well-drained soil. Jaboticaba is thirsty: keep it consistently moist and never let it dry out, especially when flowering and fruiting. Feed lightly every two months with a balanced fertiliser. Mature plants tolerate brief light frost, but protect young trees. Pruning is rarely needed beyond removing weak inner twigs; avoid cutting the fruiting wood on the trunk.
Grow fruit most people have never tasted. Our exotic fruit trees, from Monthong durian and Emperor lychee to jaboticaba, achachairú and red finger lime, are raised on our farms in Yucatán and Chiapas and shipped by DHL across Mexico. Most love heat and humidity; several do beautifully in large pots.
