About the Variegated Pink Lemon Tree

This eye-catching sport of the Eureka lemon has green-and-cream marbled leaves and young fruit striped in green and yellow like a little watermelon. As the lemons mature the stripes fade, but inside the flesh is a soft pink with a clear, tart lemon flavour and little seed; the juice itself runs nearly clear. It is as decorative as it is useful, a favourite for patios, terraces and large pots, and it fruits on and off through much of the year in warm Mexican climates. Grown on our farms in Yucatán and Chiapas and shipped via DHL.

How to Care for It

Place in full sun; variegated leaves appreciate a little shelter from the harshest afternoon sun in very hot areas. Use well-drained soil or citrus mix and water when the top layer dries. Feed with a citrus fertiliser with micronutrients every two months during growth. Protect from frost. Remove any all-green shoots, which can outgrow the variegated growth, and prune lightly to shape.

Grow fruit most people have never tasted. Most love heat and humidity; several do beautifully in large pots.
